Rose rallied the troops for the trail work at Wilderness Park on Saturday. Rose, Carl, Marge, Beth, Kris, Preston, Butch, Katie, Jesse, Icon and myself worked for 4 to 5 hours on Saturday afternoon moving dirt and rock to a low spot on the trail near 77 and Old Cheney. We were able to move over 6 tons of dirt and rock to raise a problem spot on the trail over 12 inches and hopefully prevent further trail erosion. This section has been prone to flooding and is often a mud pit. Well, mud pit no more.
Let me tell ya, the work was tough, but having a group of motivated individuals makes all the difference. Brownies and cookies also help (thanks Marge and Rose!).
If you wanna help out with future trail work, check out the
THOR website for upcoming trail maintenance days or talk to one of us. You know where to find us.

<< home | post a commentsuper awesome work guys. Thanks a bunch.
Please feel free to post here http://lincoln-roadies.blogspot.com/ & here http://teamfire-lincoln.blogspot.com/ next time. I'm sure you'll get lots of volunteers. We all use the trails and would sure be nice to be able to help maintain them too. Thank You!
AWESOME!! Thank you so much to everyone who came and helped out! Hopefully the net effect of these improvements will make the "trail outages" we experienced in early October a thing of the past, and even after heavy rains, we'll only be out of the park for a few days at the worst at any given time.
And I won't be in Colorado for the next Wilderness trail work session, I promise! Speaking of which, did you guys talk about a date for the next session?
Thanks again everybody. I am extremely grateful to all of you for your effort.
really bummed I had to bail out at the last moment. Rose accepted my apology with grace.
Just the pride of riding over that part knowing you made it cool must feel awesome.
Thanks once again. Can't wait to see it in person.
You guys and gals are awesome.
