i know a lot of you guys at least by sight (i think)... randy gibson here. just wondering what time the plan is to leave and how long it might take to reach ponca. trying to talk my family into a camping trip and/or picking me up...

if there is time, place, route, etc. posted. sorry/didn't see it. would love to ride if i can swing it. either way, i'm in for sept 20th. also, 'cross bike is all that is functional right now, mountain bike ailing. is that cool? thanx in advance for any info.

hey randy. you'd maybe remember me if you saw me. used to work at cycle works. mark anderson taught me everything i know.

you're more than welcome to come and join the ride. your family camping would be a bonus. at this point i think your own transportation is helpful and a good idea. we'll leave from approx 70th and holdrege at 4am saturday morning. i'd be glad to share the route but i also like keeping it a group since we'll be pretty remote. email me for specifics mwkfw@neb.rr.com. all gravel. breakfast at northbend around 8.30. we'll travel on to scribner, past west point, pender, thurston, past emerson and into ponca around 5pm if all goes well. long day but sublime in its remoteness at times. pretty good pace but we're not afraid of a few road side breaks to take it in. and this year a few of us are riding back to lincoln on sunday after some campside breakfast.

RG - not sure what your reference to Sept. 20 is, but the ride is this Saturday. A cross bike would work, I think MG rode one last year. Contact MW for the details, it would be great to have you on the ride.

randy, it'd be great to have you join us for all or part of the ride! matt gersib here, and i worked at cycle works with matt wills. i totally remember you from the good 'ol days in the shop. it's been a long time...

i'll be on a 'cross bike again this year, as will jp. we'll both be riding our salsa la cruzes. they're the best tools in the shed for that type of riding, and they can easily handle the off road action at ponca state park too.

cheers,
mg

logistically can't pull of the whole adventure. family-wise i just can't make it work for everyone, bummer. would absolutely love to join in the epicness of this saturday. i'm absolutely in for next year somehow, someway. thanx for welcoming me. i'll check back for details on the big ol lincoln loop on 20 september. have a grand time ponca-ing.
